This year we celebrate the 75th anniversary of Midget Auto Racing. On Sunday, June 4th 1933, the very first organized midget car race was held. The race was run at Sacramento Stadium located at Sacramento Junior College. David Oliver, driving the #2 Overland-powered car, won the first of many midget car races.

On Saturday, September 27th you can see vintage midget racecars at the Manifolds on Main car show in downtown Irving. The first annual Irving Main Street Event will play host to the car show and street festival. As a special part of the car show there will be a display of midget racecars from the 30’s, 40’s, 50’s & 60’s. You will be able to see a variety of famous midget racecars including a Kurtis Kraft, the “Pop” Dreyer Checkerboard Offy, a Hillegass, a Roy Richter Ford V8-60 and a Don Edmunds car. |
